Each Irwin® hole saw is crafted from the highest quality bi-metal. The high speed steel teeth are welded to a carbon steel body for bi-metal construction that allows a hole saw to stay sharper longer. Because Irwin® hole saws are engineered and manufactured for exceptional sharpness and durability, they will cut a variety of materials. These saws will cut holes in wood, aluminum, copper, iron, stainless steel and zinc.
Features
- Super sharp teeth cut faster and dulls less
- Variable depth gullets provide more efficient chip clearance
- 4/6 variable pitch teeth for reduced noise and improved performance
- Electron beam weld for stronger, longer lasting teeth
- Bi-metal construction for toughness and long life
- Bi-metal blades feature a toothed edge made from high speed steel (HSS) attached to a flexible steel backing through an electron beam welding process
- This configuration results in a blade that makes precise cuts while resisting breakage
- Toothed edge saws are composed of a row of pointed teeth
- Common tooth variations include the number of teeth per inch and pitch pattern
- HSS provides good wear resistance and can be used in general purpose applications for both ferrous and nonferrous materials
- Applicable materials: aluminum, brass, cast iron, mild steel, stainless steel, steel, tool steel, copper and zinc
